	Rules ● You must be 18 or older to join this game because there will be adult situations involved. ● You must have a contact post in each journal. If there is no contact post in your character's journal, we will not approve your character for play until such time that one is posted. This makes it so much easier for other players and the mods to contact you. ● This is a multifandom game set in the Hawaii Five-0 universe, which means that characters from many fandoms will be interacting. Try to play outside your happy circle, it can be fun. ● We allow both canon and AU versions of characters. That being said, if you are playing a canon character, your portrayal must be canon. If you would like to alter a character's personality, history, sexuality, relationship, etc., make sure you list them as AU in your application. If you are playing a character in a movie or television series, you are obligated to use the PB represented on film. You are also obligated to match your character's ethnicity and other physical attributes as closely as possible - no whitewashing. Exceptions made on a case by case basis. ● Original Characters are allowed in-game. But they must have a detailed history. It also must have approval from any relations in the game. [You cannot give Harry a long lost sister without his permission] ● You are allowed to play next generation/future children in game, but if people affected by this storyline are in game, please get permission from the players of those characters before applying for the character. In some cases, it might complicate their storyline in a way they can't come back from. In the case of multiple versions characters, you only have to get permission from one set (both players of that set.) If you have a character in game and play 1 half of the set you can give yourself permission as that half. ● We are not going to police what people do here. Keep anything that is adult, involving death and/or anything that could trigger someone under a cut. When in doubt, use a cut with the appropriate warnings. That being said, in order to ensure that we don't have too much happening all at once, the mods must be aware of anything that involves the following plots: -- Pregnancies; -- Deaths; -- Abductions; and -- Any major plots (that involve more than two players). ● If you have any plans for the above plots, please notify the mods in the dropbox. Please do not start your plot until you have received approval from the mods. We will not withhold approval, however, if there are several major things going on in the game already, we will approve the plot when things quiet down so we don't have so many things going on at one time. ● Once you have received approval, you will need to post about it in the OOC to let your fellow players know what is going on and to give them the opportunity to ask questions and/or to plot and join in. ● If your character dies in game the will be resurrected five (5) days later. Unless you are killing your character off and then dropping them, you cannot post for the character until five (5) days after their death. ● Please remember, everything in game has consequences. If your character is caught doing something illegal, they could be arrested. ● This is a game that will inevitably house many characters from many fandoms, played by many different players. While writing with your SL partners is certainly something everyone wants and loves to do, we heavily encourage you to branch out and interact with everyone. Interact outside of your character's fandoms and their canon counterparts. Don't just interact with your character's significant other - talk to everyone. No post should ever go un-replied to. Even if it's by a character you don't know, PLEASE reply anyway. Everyone deserves interaction, so spread the love! If you consistently refuse to interact with the game population at large, you'll receive a warning and if you continue to ignore the game majority, you may be removed. [taken with permission from islandkeepers from IJ]. ● Upon acceptance in the game, you will have one week (7 days) to post to ohanaic and ohanaooc. The IC community serving as a place for both network posts and longer scenes. Failure to do so will result in your removal from the game. If extenuating circumstances prevent you from introducing yourself within this time frame, you must contact the moderators, so more time may be granted. ● Hiatuses must be posted in the dropbox or they will not be honored. ● Strikethroughs are interpreted as comments that were written and then deleted and cannot be read in character at all. ● No netspeak! " L U V 2day " is just a bunch of random letters. Not words that make up a phrase. We are not grammar Nazis or elitist, we just like to understand what everyone is writing, unless your character writes badly, then that’s fine. ● You must have a real-life PB for your character. Comic/graphic art icons are allowed as a supplement, but an actual PB is required. If for any reason you cannot find a real-life PB that would be suitable for your character, please contact the mods. We will be happy to work with you. ● There's only allowed to be one PB per fandom (ex. Emma Watson as Hermione in the HP fandom) - meaning once a PB is used for a specific fandom, that PB cannot be repeated unless there is a canon instance for it. ● Any questions/comments, etc. maybe placed in the dropbox. Your moderators can also be contacted by a comment placed in the dropbox. Please refrain from approaching just one of the mods. We work as a team here so all questions/comments, etc. should be directed to the dropbox. We also have a server on Discord we can use to talk to players individually upon request. ● These rules are subject to change at any time. If/When they are changed, a notification will be posted up in the OOC community. ● We reserve the right to deny entry to anyone that does not follow these rules. ● Just have fun! Gameplay ● No god-modding! To explain what we mean you cannot control another person's character without the mun's explicit consent. If your character's actions will have some effect on another, discuss that plot with the other character's player first! Don’t be rude, we all just want to play well together. Communication is key here. ● Be active! There will be a quarterly roll call to both a check-in with our player base and as a gage of your continued interest as players. ● Canon Updating: When it comes to all other fandoms, all you need to do to update your character is a post to the OOC comm that your character will be missing for a certain amount of time (the length is of your choosing) and when they return they will be at their new canon point. All we ask is that you keep all spoilers under a cut and/or warn that there may be spoilers for the new episode and/or movie, etc. in the comments. The standard spoiler warnings are a week or two for Television and a month for movies. All other mediums are up to the player's discretion. Please provide enough background information on your character/fandom to allow people that are canon blind to tag everyone's posts. This can be done as a wiki link in the post or a link to a journal post. ● We are always happy to extend a slow status or hiatus to our players should they need it. We get it, life gets in the way of play sometimes. However, holds and applications for characters will not be approved if the player holding and/or applying for the character is currently on a slow status and/or hiatus. ● We have a "three strikes and you're out" policy. If the mods are approached with concerns about a player that can be substantiated, the offending player will be given a strike after the mod team approaches that player. On the third strike, we will have no further choice but to remove the player from the game. Let's try to keep the drama ic and not OOC. ● IC | OOC - See that line there? Good. Don't cross it. ● Don't be a douche. We really can't be clear enough about this one. ● We’d ask for no drama, but that’s like asking for world peace. Just work it amongst yourself first and if that doesn’t work, feel free to contact a mod. We are always willing to listen, help out, and even get bitchy if needed. However, in the end, if we have to step in, which will be the last straw, what we say goes! ● Please try to be true to the nature of your character. Dean Winchester is not suddenly going to switch sides and become Crowley's, right-hand man. Gradually the characters may change over time, due to the circumstances but keep it as realistic as possible. ● Pregnancies will last the full nine months unless there are circumstances that alter that, ie: magical pregnancy, aliens, etc. ● No non-canon incest allowed. ● We are an inclusive group here and both players and characters of the LGBTQ+ community are welcome in this game. Any bullying of these players and/or characters due to their sexuality/preferences will not be tolerated and will be an exception to the three strikes and you’re out rule mentioned above. However, we would prefer that if you plan to alter a canon character's sexuality and/or gender, that you build this change gradually using CR over time. We are not policing this issue and we trust that players will use their discretion. ● Unless your characters share a past together. Please refrain from instant or random shipping. We like to see how things develop. Even a hookup involves a little work, even if it’s just flirting or staring at each other. And make sure you talk about shipping with the other players involved first. ● You are allowed as many characters as you can keep active. Use your own discretion. ● Characters under 18 years of age will require a guardian, they must live with that guardian until they reach 18. ● We do allow canon puncturing here. However, a player's preference on whether they allow their characters to be punctured will be on their app. Before you canon-puncture another character, please make sure you check out the other character's app to make sure the player is okay with it. ● If a player has said no to canon puncturing on their app, it is fine for your character to make vague pop culture references, but don't tell that particular character that they're fictional. ● When leaving the game, you character could be killed off; nothing personal, but it helps keep the game going. Even though the character died, they are welcome to come back if someone else wants to play them or you decide to come back as them.
